Synopsis:

Compartment No. 6 is feature film by a Finnish director Juho Kuosmanen, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2021, where it was awarded Grand Prix from the jury. The award secured the film a great success at Festivals. It is an adaptation of Rosa Liksom’s novel. A young Finnish woman Laura (Seidi Haarla) escapes an enigmatic love affair with a literature professor in Moscow by boarding a train to the Arctic port of Murmansk. Forced to share the long ride and a tiny sleeping car with a Russian miner Ljoha (Yuriy Borisov), the unexpected encounter leads the occupants of Compartment no. 6 to face the truth about their own yearning for human connection.
